I didn’t know Luke, and I had only just met Zach through a post about public safety mental health on a scanner page. Sometimes, though, people come into our lives at exactly the moment we need them.
I am a 2x survivor, and I have made a choice to use the pain I have lived through for a purpose: to help others know they are not alone and to keep fighting for better mental health support.
Zach sent me these 47 pages to read, and something about it hit me deeply. Two has always been my favorite number. I was born on 2/2. And somehow, in this moment, Zach, Luke, and God knew I needed to read these pages.
They reminded me that I am not alone in this fight or in this mission.
I’m grateful for the courage it takes to share our stories, because our lived experiences can become a light for someone else who may be struggling in silence.
I can’t wait to read the entire book when it is released. Until then, I’ll carry these pages with me as another reminder that our stories matter, our pain can have purpose, and none of us has to walk this road alone.
Thank you, Zach, for sharing this with me. Sometimes a simple act of reaching out can mean more than we will ever know.
